मान्यता है कि जो भी भक्त यदि सच्चे भाव से खाटूश्याम का नाम उच्चारण करता है, तो उसका उद्धार संभव है. यदि भक्त सच्ची आस्था, प्रेम-भाव से खाटूश्याम की पूजा-अर्चना करता है, तो उसकी सभी मनोकामनाएं पूर्ण होती हैं. जिदंगी के सभी दुख-दर्द दूर होते हैं.

श्री खाटू श्याम जी भारत देश के राजस्थान राज्य के सीकर जिले में एक प्रसिद्ध गांव है, जहाँ पर बाबा श्याम का विश्व विख्यात मंदिर है। यह मंदिर 1027 ई॰ में रूपसिंह चौहान और नर्मदा कँवर द्वारा बनाया गया। इस मंदिर में भीम के पौत्र और घटोत्कच के तीनों पुत्रों में से ज्येष्ठ पुत्र बर्बरीक के सिर की पूजा होती है।

खाटू श्याम जी की कहानी क्या है?

खाटू श्याम असल में भीम के पोते और घटोत्कच के बेटे बर्बरीक हैं। इन्हीं की खाटू श्याम के रूप में पूजा की जाती है। बर्बरीक में बचपन से ही वीर और महान योद्धा के गुण थे और इन्होंने भगवान शिव को प्रसन्न कर उनसे तीन अभेद्य बाण प्राप्त किए थे। इसी कारण इन्हें तीन बाण धारी भी कहा जाता है।

बताया जा रहा है कि एकादशी के मौके पर खाटूश्याम के दर्शन करने हजारों की संख्या में यहां भक्त पहुंचे थे. हिंदू धर्म के अनुसार, इस मंदिर का बहुत महत्व है. मान्यता है कि भगवान श्री कृष्ण से खाटूश्याम जी ने वरदान प्राप्त किया था कि वे कलियुग में उनके नाम श्याम से पूजे जाएंगे.

Barbarik had the qualities of a brave and great warrior since childhood and he pleased Lord Shiva and received three impenetrable arrows from him. For this reason they are also called having three arrows. It is being told that on the occasion of Ekadashi, thousands of devotees had reached here to have darshan of Khatushyam. According to Hindu religion, this temple has great importance. It is believed that Khatushyam ji had received a boon from Lord Shri Krishna that he would be worshiped by his name Shyam in Kaliyuga.
