होलिका दहन बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत का प्रतीक है और धार्मिक रूप से नकारात्मक शक्तियों, बुरी नजर व मानसिक-शारीरिक कष्टों को नष्ट करने का एक अत्यंत शक्तिशाली अवसर माना जाता है। इसकी अग्नि में पूजा-सामग्री अर्पित करने से सुख-समृद्धि, सफलता, और भाग्य में वृद्धि होती है, साथ ही यह वातावरण को शुद्ध करता है।
मान्यता के अनुसार, होलिका की अग्नि में नारियल या अन्य सामग्री डालने से रोगों और शारीरिक कष्टों से मुक्ति मिलती है।
होलिका की 7 परिक्रमा करने से धन, स्वास्थ्य और जीवन की अन्य बाधाएं दूर होती हैं। होलिका दहन के बाद बची राख को घर के पूजा स्थान, तिजोरी या मुख्य दरवाजे पर रखने से बरकत बनी रहती है और सुख-शांति आती है।
