उत्तराखंड के नैनीताल के पास स्थित बाबा नीम करौली के प्रसिद्ध कैंची धाम की लोगों में बहुत मान्यता है. 15 जून को ही बाबा के मंदिर का निर्माण कराया गया था. कैंची धाम आश्रम में हनुमानजी और अन्य मूर्तियों की प्राण-प्रतिष्ठा 15 जून को अलग-अलग वर्षों में की गई थी.

नीम करौली बाबा जी ने अपने भक्तों से कहा चिंता मत करो, पास बह रही गंगा नदी से दो कनस्तर जल भरकर ले आओ. भक्तों ने ऐसा ही किया वह गंगाजल भरकर ले आए और कढ़ाई में डाल दिया. बाबा नीम करोली के चमत्कार से कढ़ाई में डाला जल देशी घी में बदल गया और उसमें गर्मा-गर्भ पूड़िया तली जाने लगी. सभी भक्त ये देखकर हैरान रह गए.

नीम करोली बाबा का जन्म उत्तर प्रदेश के अकबरपुर में 1900 के करीब हुआ था. इनके पिता का नाम दुर्गा प्रसाद था. नीम करोली बाबा का वास्तविक नाम लक्ष्मीनारायण शर्मा था. बाबा जब तक जीवित थे, लोग उन्हें नीम करोली बाबा, लक्ष्मण दास, हांडी वाले बाबा, तिकोनिया वाले बाबा और तलईया बाबा जैसे नामों से जानते थे.

The famous Kainchi Dham of Baba Neem Karauli, located near Nainital in Uttarakhand, is very famous among the people. Baba's temple was constructed on 15th June itself. Hanumanji and other idols were consecrated in Kainchi Dham Ashram on June 15 in different years.

Neem Karauli Baba Ji told his devotees not to worry, bring two canisters filled with water from the river Ganga flowing nearby. The devotees did the same, filled Ganga water and poured it in the pan. Due to the miracle of Baba Neem Karoli, the water poured in the pan turned into desi ghee and hot puris were fried in it. All the devotees were surprised to see this.

Neem Karoli Baba was born in Akbarpur, Uttar Pradesh around 1900. His father's name was Durga Prasad. Neem Karoli Baba's real name was Lakshminarayan Sharma. As long as Baba was alive, people knew him by names like Neem Karoli Baba, Laxman Das, Handi Wale Baba, Tikonia Wale Baba and Talaiya Baba.
