कामाख्या माता को हर इच्छा पूरी करने वाली माना जाता है। यहां चैत्र नवरात्रि में भक्तों और तंत्रिकों की कतार लगी हुई रहती है। क्योंकि ऐसी मान्यता है कि नवरात्रि में जो भी भक्त यहां कामाख्या माता के दर्शन के लिए आते हैं, उनकी हर मनोकामना जल्द ही पूरी होती है। माना जाता है कि वे भक्त जो माँ कामाख्या के प्रति श्रद्धा भाव से दर्शन करते हैं, उनकी सभी मनोकामनाएं पूर्ण होती हैं। इस मन्दिर का एक विशेषता यह है कि यहां तांत्रिक पूजा भी होती है।
कामाख्या पूजा जोड़ों के बीच विवादों और गलतफहमियों को सुलझाने में मदद करती है और रिश्तों में सद्भाव, संतुष्टि और बेहतर बंधन लाती है । यह पूजा तलाक या अलगाव पर विचार कर रहे जोड़े के बीच सुलह की संभावना में मदद करती है और किसी के वैवाहिक जीवन में स्थिरता लाती है।
इस दौरान कामाख्या मंदिर का कपाट 3 दिनों के लिए बंद रहता है। धार्मिक मान्यताओं के मुताबिक, इस समय मां कामाख्या रजस्वला (मासिक धर्म) में रहती हैं। इस समय ब्रह्मपुत्र नदी का जल भी लाल हो जाता है।
कामाख्या देवी की पूजा करने से पहले व्यक्ति को मंदिर की दीवार पर मौजूद 'तंत्र गणपति' की मूर्ति की पूजा करनी चाहिए। भक्त मूर्ति पर सिक्के चिपकाकर चढ़ाते हैं।
मंदिर की अनूठी विशेषता योनि के आकार का पत्थर है, जो देवी के प्रजनन अंग का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है और उनकी उपस्थिति की अभिव्यक्ति के रूप में पूजा की जाती है। भक्त समृद्धि, उर्वरता और आध्यात्मिक जागृति के लिए उनका आशीर्वाद लेने के लिए मंदिर जाते हैं।

During this period, the doors of Kamakhya temple remain closed for 3 days. According to religious beliefs, at this time Mother Kamakhya is in Rajaswala (menstruation). At this time the water of Brahmaputra river also turns red.
Before worshiping Kamakhya Devi, one should worship the idol of 'Tantra Ganapati' present on the wall of the temple. Devotees offer coins by sticking them on the idol.
The unique feature of the temple is the yoni-shaped stone, which represents the reproductive organ of the goddess and is worshiped as a manifestation of her presence. Devotees visit the temple to seek his blessings for prosperity, fertility and spiritual awakening.
